Peer Review Process
Referee Policy
Hitit Journal of
Occupational Health & Safety uses a double-blind peer-review system in
which the names of the referee(s) and author(s) are kept confidential.
All studies submitted to
the journal and passed the preliminary review of the Editorial Board are
subject to a peer review process. The peer review process used for the studies
is as follows:
Preliminary Evaluation
All studies submitted to
the journal are pre-evaluated by the Journal Editorial Board. Studies that do
not fall into the sub-fields of the journal, do not comply with the specified
scientific format, do not have an ethical report (for required studies), do not
comply with the Journal's scientific writing principles, and do not have
plagiarism/similarity reports are rejected without initiating the refereeing
process or are sent to the authors for correction. At this stage, no study can
be accepted for publication by the Editor or Editorial Board.
Peer Review
Studies that pass the
preliminary evaluation phase are sent to 2 (two) referees determined by the
Editorial Board according to their content and field of
expertise. Referees evaluate the publications sent to them in terms
of originality, methodology, contribution to the literature, analysis and
interpretation of data, adequacy of results and suggestions, citation method,
etc. Referees can directly accept, reject or request corrections from the
author(s). In order for a study to be published in the journal, 2 (two)
referees must give a positive opinion. In the event that one positive and one
negative decision emerge from the referee reports; the Editorial Board may
reject the study or send it to a third referee based on the reports.
In case of correction
requests by referees, author/authors shall complete the necessary corrections
within a maximum of 2 (two) weeks and resubmit the study. Studies that are not
sent with corrections within the specified period are removed from the evaluation
process. Referees may request more than one correction for the same study.
Studies that are not accepted for publication are not returned to the authors.
